Creativity is one of the things that most distinguishes us as humans.
Every photograph that captivates us, every song we get lost in, every building we admire, every meal we remember, every philosophy that changes the way we think, every medicine that saves a life… all of it began as an idea in someone’s mind before it became part of the world.
That’s the part that fascinates us. Not “How did they do that?” but “How did they even think of that?”
The Magenta exists to showcase those creations.
Not to analyse them. Not to rank them. Not to criticise them. Simply to present them, and appreciate humans’ ability to imagine, and instantiate that imagination in the universe we share.
Every week we publish a carefully curated work of human creativity. There are no preset categories because creativity doesn’t have boundaries.
We’re a non-profit publication. We’re not motivated by clicks, algorithms, or revenue. Our only goal is to find and share creations that deserve our attention.
The name comes from the colour. Magenta is unusual because it doesn’t correspond to any single wavelength of visible light. It’s a colour our minds create, filling the space between red and violet. We thought that was rather fitting.
